As a lecturer Crossmedia, Maurits is affiliated with the Luca School of Arts in Ghent and is engaged in weekly teaching in the field of new media & media technology. He is also part of the research team on educational development within the Crossmedia program. From his personal website Visualdesignart.be, he provides his own lessons and materials including hosting space with which he contributes to the development of their creative portfolio and relevant knowledge for the field.

Subjects like HTML/CSS, Unity3D, After Effects, Photoshop and Adobe related software are taught in combination with an online environment and knowledge in Content Management Systems like for example ‘WordPress’.

In addition, he has installed and set up webshops for various entrepreneurs, such as for the Dutch Illustrator Argibald.
